Originally from Whistler, BC, Emily was trained in figure skating, dance, and drama from a young age. She later trained at Boston Dance Collective, Vibestreet Dance, and Oak Bay Secondary School.

In her post-secondary education, she studied Creative Industries of Acting & Dance Studies and Media (Bachelor of Arts, Toronto Metropolitan University), Ballet at Canada’s National Ballet School, and education at the Canada College of Education.

Currently, she is completing her Bachelor of Education in Secondary Drama and English at the University of Victoria.

Emily has worked in various roles within the performing arts, such as director, choreographer, stage manager, producer, videographer, performer, and marketing.

Some notable companies she has worked for include EntertainmentOne, The Musical Stage Company, Creativiva Inc, TheatreSKAM, The Canadian Stage, VOS Musical Theatre, The Coalmine Theatre, and Buddies in Bad Times.

She has worked internationally for the past 10+ years, touring in Asia, Europe, and North America with various works.

From Spain to China, Toronto to Victoria, Emily has taught at various public schools and studios for over a decade.

She specializes in hip hop, musical theatre, contemporary, lyrical, voguing, and jazz styles. She has also trained in teaching applied theatre and drama at the University of Victoria.

Emily has been teaching in the dance program at Oak Bay Secondary School since 2019, and also teaches adult dance classes at Passion & Performance Arts Inc. in Victoria, BC.

Driven by the need for inclusive spaces in the arts, Emily works to create accessible learning environments for adults and youth. She does so by creating audiovisual supplement material for all of her classes, by learning and teaching about cultural histories of the styles she works in, and by educating on creating inclusive spaces in her classes.
